Hello ladies! I guess i just need to vent a little and in order for me to do that I need to update you all This may sum up to sound like I just need a little sympathy but thats not what I am looking for, just to get this off my chest so maybe I can sleep!
SO......A few months ago I had a post called 'Am I crazy' and basically me and my doc agreed I have some depression I need to deal with (with taking care of DD all day alone SAHM and still dealing with my dad) so he started me on a small amount of lexapro. Well after taking that for about 5 days I started to feel happier and just more of myself, EXCEPT I was itching like a mad person and had scratched my skin open because it was so bad. Turns out I am allergic to the meds (1 in 1,000 people are allergic so go figure) so now I am unable to take meds to return back to my happy, positive and loving life self.
So here I sit, starring at the TV and computer wishing I was able to just go to bed and sleep like a normal person and want to get out of bed and take care of my beautiful daughter.......BLAH sorry this is boring and pointless :P
Re: VENT/update (long sorry)
I'm sorry you're going through this, but I've been where you are before. I feel that I am better for having gone through it. At least now I know the difference in myself and can keep myself from sliding back to where I was before.
Are you seeing a psychologist? You will be better off starting there instead of your regular doctor.
I was on Paxil, but it was aweful. It didn't make things better, it only kept things from getting worse mentally (physically, sex was worse). I had success with Lexapro, but a few of my friends have had great success on Wellbutrin.
I ended up having to quit my meds cold turkey because I found out I was pregnant with my DD. She is now 5 1/2 and I haven't had to go back on the meds since.
It seems that there are quite a few of us on here who have been in similar situations as you are now. Please feel free to come on here and talk about this with us. I'd like to think we're all here to help. GL!
This or contact your insurance. They might cover a therapist if your doctor refers you to one.
