Yesterday and today I let DD "choose" what books I read to her by laying out 4-5 books and then reading the one that she touched. I mixed up the books each time before I read.  It sounds ridiculous, but 6 times in a row she touched the same book "barnyard dance" so I read it 6 times in a row (its one that DH reads to her in an extremely silly voice and she always squeals when he reads it).

Then I put "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" with the other books and she touched that one a bunch of times in a row...even though I kept switching the placement of the books.

Does anyone's child  seem to make choices/show preference for things yet? I had DH come and watch to assure me that I wasn't crazy in thinking that she was doing it!

DD definitely has preferences for certain toys and books, even for certain teethers. The Barnyard Dance is one of her favorites too!

Lucas prefers what ever toy or book his big brother is playing with. It's funny to me and scary that at 6months and 2 years they all ready play and fight like brothers.

I haven't noticed that with books or toys so much, but DS definitely has preferences of what songs I sing to him. He loves music in general, but he has two favorite songs.
