I was offered both options, but we chose to go with the CVS because it is done much earlier. We would have considered termination depending on the results, so it was better for us to know earlier in the pregnancy.
We were offered amnio because it could be done locally, while a CVS would have required an hour's drive. We did neither, opting instead for an NT scan with bloodwork and the MaterniT21 test. I was satisfied with the results and did not want to undergo an invasive procedure that could cause a miscarriage, so we're done until our anatomy scan a week from Monday. Most other problems can be seen at that scan.
