Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Anyone take Lutera (birth control pill)?

So I've decided to take the plunge and go back on the pill.  We don't really want more children but I'm not really in to the IUD thing and we don't want anything permanent yet.....

I've never been on this kind--Lutera?  Anyone have experience?

I'm not looking forward to the weight gain that usually accompanies starting these.

And I'm really terrified of getting my migraines back.

Re: Anyone take Lutera (birth control pill)?

  • I'm taking Lutera and I was taking it for 10 years before I stopped to have LO. Of course everyone is different, but I have had no problems with it. I do get a slight headache the day before I get my period but its nothing an advil can't fix. I haven't experienced any weight gain from taking the pill.

I hope it goes well for you :)

Thanks for chiming in!   I get a headache right before too--even not on the pill, so hopefully that won't change.  I'm also so glad it's been around a while!  I didn't think about that.  Thanks again!

  • I took Lutera for years. It made me a little nauseated if I took it in the morning, so I switched to bedtime and never had any other problems with it. It's one of the lowest doses on the market, so side effects like weight gain and mood swings are unlikely or are at least usually very minor. I never had PMS or cramps when I was on a low-dose pill, and my periods were short and light.
