Our lil guy is a few days shy of 10 months old. Within the last week he has been drinking maybe an ounce of each 4oz bottle and then throwing a fit and wants to be put down. He is still eating his solids--breakfast, snack/lunch, then dinner. Since he won't drink his bottles I haven't been giving him any water in a sippy with his meals.
Anyone else have this?! He's not sick or losing weight--he's a pretty big boy. Healthy and not sick. Thanks
Re: Doesn't want bottle...or formula!!!
I would cut back on the solids. He still needs his formula more than solids.
First of all, I suggest giving him some water so he doesn't get dehydrated. Gotta make sure this change doesn't make him sick. Then I'd suggest getting him to your pediatrician ASAP to check for any medical reasons. He's supposed to continue formula until at least 12 months, but it is possible that he's ready to wean early. You want a professional opinion about this before letting him self wean.
Will he take formula from a sippy or a straw? He may be refusing it because the bottle isn't fast enough anymore.
For example DD has a bottle at 6:30, breakfast at 8, bottle at 10:30, lunch at noon, bottle at 2:30, sometimes a snack around 3:30, dinner at 5:30, then bedtime bottle around 77:30. She's lessened her formula intake a bit but is still drinking 5oz every time and 6oz in the morning.

My daughter was the same way a couple months ago and hardly had any formula for two days. turns out it was due to teething. She's teething again and we are having issues with the bottle again. Our pedi said to try the sippy or if nothing else works to use the syringe and give her the formula just like you would the medicine so she doesn't get dehydrated.
May want to take him in and make sure it's not teething or possibly an ear infection.
I really don't think this is a solids issue. Just because it sounds so much like my DD. And like I said she was teething. But I'd say best is to call the pedi, they'll have the best answer for you. Hope your little man is a-ok
I think even 15 oz of the formula he is getting is fine. A lot of babies decrease to 12-16oz closer to 1year old. I think my 1st DD only took about 16 oz by the time she was 10 months old - but she was eating 3 meals per day, too.
However, I agree that if this is "new" to him, it's probably due to teething or and EI or something. DD is not eating solids very well right now (something she always did WAY better than the bottle) b/c she has croup.
