had tests run a few weeks ago through my regular doctor for toxoplasmosis along with other things. they called today and said the toxoplasmosis came up positive and to come in and confirm it with a blood test. so i did and the results will take a few days. i work at an animal hospital so i probably got it there. so now i'm stressed out about that plus considering finding another job. ugh.

I'm sorry you got bad news. What did your doctor suggest to treat it? Can you ask your job to make accommodations for you during your pregnancy, like having someone else clean the feces, until you return from maternity leave? Looking for a job while pregnant would be stressful too.

That is a tough one. I hope your dr is able to treat it easily and that everything is all right!

I was just reading about toxoplasmosis because I ripped up a few flowers without wearing gloves (just didn't think about it, ugh). The screen they do looks for two different things. They can tell if the infection was recent or if you had it a long time ago. You could have contracted it 6 years ago and your titer would still show up positive because you have lifetime immunity to it. So it's possible that it's an old infection. Good luck! I emailed my Dr's office and they said I really shouldn't worry about a toxoplasmosis infection from what I did, but they are going to run a titer anyway when I go in for my regular bloodwork.
