1. Two boys ages 7 and 5
2. DS1 has grown out of all of the fall/ winter clothes that I just bought him a month or so ago!
3. DS2 has hit the 5 year old takes forever to get ready in the morning phase. I was hoping that it was just something that my DS1 did
Out comes the timer again. If he isn't ready in 30 minutes (should only take 15 min) in the morning, he has to go to bed 15 minutes early that night.
4. Birthday party for a friend's little girl and relaxing!
5. We always have a large group of friends that get together each year. Various family members also attend (my brother). We all bring something. One of our favorite traditions! We save visiting family for Christmas.
Mother of two wonderful boys! Blessed through adoption.
1. How many kids and ages?
Two foster brothers: Artichoke (5 years) and Zucchini (2 years)
2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week?
The judge decided that the boys can go home! Although we are guessing that it will actually happen next week or the week after.
3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week?
The boys don't know about the judges decision and won't until next Thursday. Artichoke knows something is up and has been asking a lot of questions. I HATE that we aren't being as truthful with him as we could, even though I completely understand the reasons for waiting. It just feels like we are lying to him. Ugh!
4. Weekend plans?
A few "last" playdates with friends. And we are considering taking them to the zoo.
5. Question of the Week: Thanksgiving plans? It's quickly approaching!
We know for sure that the boys will not be with us by Thanksgiving. So we are planning on having a low-key holiday weekend to give us time to grieve and just breathe after the past 5 months!
1. How many kids and ages? 1 DD, 6 weeks old!
2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week? I didn't get a chance to check in last week (sorry!), but she smiled (on purpose) for the first time a week and a half ago. It was such an amazing feeling! I did something that made her smile, then I did it again and her smile got bigger, then a third time and she was in a full open-mouthed grin. I can't wait until it happens all the time, and oh man, when I can make her laugh, I can't imagine!
3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? I know it seems crazy, but I continue to worry about baby #2, our best way to adopt our second child, what ages, etc. I am trying hard to just focus on DD for a while though.
4. Weekend plans? It's going to be sunny and in the 70s, so I am super excited for lots of walks. We also have to get ready for a road trip to MI for Thanksgiving.
5. Question of the Week: Thanksgiving plans? It's quickly approaching! We are driving to Michigan (11 hours pre-baby, yikes!) and my family is throwing us a "meet the baby" shower. My parents and one sister has already met DD, but my other sister hasn't, so I'm really excited for that.Yes, I am uncool and parenting like a mad woman . . . Jillian - that will be YOU very, very soon!!!!! So excited for you!
1. How many kids and ages? 1 daughter - 8 weeks
2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week? Lots of big smiles & cooing. Got paperwork from the attorney to begin the finalization process. Nursery furniture finally arrived!
3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? Kate is going through a major growth spurt or something. She's killin' me! Also, I go back to work after Thanksgiving & I'm dreading it.
4. Weekend plans? Start loading, decorating, setting up and organizing everything in the nursery. My OCD is very excited!
5. Question of the Week: Thanksgiving plans? It's quickly approaching! We always go to my Mom's. ILs are coming in as well. My last week off before back to work.
After 5.5 years of loss, heartbreak, and empty arms, our dreams were fulfilled through the beautiful, selfless gift of adoption. We are amazingly blessed!
