Time change recovery?

It seems like Munchkin is STILL recovering from the time change. He typically sleeps from 7:30 pm to around 7 am. He's woken up just after 5 am every day since the time change. He's also still going down earlier. He just went to sleep and it's not even 6 pm yet!

His naps have been a bit earlier in the day than usual but still the normal length. It's hard for me to really regulate his naps because he goes to day care part time and DH watches him the rest of the time.

When will he adjust? What can I do to help him?

Re: Time change recovery?

  • We are right there with you. She naps about an hour earlier than she did before and takes some random cat naps now. She is so thrown off. And she is rubbing her eyes during dinner and won't eat because she's tired. I'm gonna try dinner earlier tonight.

  • No advice just in the same boat! She barely makes it to 6 pm and wakes up at 5:30 am like clockwork!  I read on here somewhere that it should be about a week for them to sort it out.
  • So the other night Aria was crazy tired by 6. Like "I am screaming my head off as a last resort to keep myself awake" tired. So I put her down for a third nap. [that we haven't done in months]

I let her sleep until 7:30. Then I woke her up, let her play for a bit, fed her dinner, and did our bedtime routine. She was asleep by 9. [my goal is to have bedtime routine start at 8 and in bed no later than 9, preferably 8:30]

She slept until 5 am, took a bottle and slept until I had to get her up at 7:30. Only one night waking, and she slept past 6:30! That hasn't happened in over a month!

Every night since, she's taken her afternoon nap a bit later [like 3 to 5ish] and has went to bed between 8:30 and 9, sleeping until 430, taking a bottle, and sleeping until 7.

I said all that to say this: I think letting her take that third nap one day is what helped us adjust to the new time schedule. I'd recommend it! :
