We were hoping that LO would be discharged tonight. But in the middle of the night about 30 minutes after a feed she had a drift and had to be stimulated to get her numbers up. So now our discharge clock is re-set and if she remains episode free and passes the car seat test she could be home on sunday.
It's crazy because I thought that today was too soon and the dr said that she was ready. So then DH and I got ourselves ready and were going around like crazy people cleaning the house and making last minute purchases. So now we're ready and she's not. What a crazy emotional rollercoaster!
Re: Resetting the discharge clock
It looks like our LOs were born at the same gestational age and approximately the same weight (my DS was 1 lb 3 oz at 28 weeks). We were told too that we were going home (during week 37) and we too thought it was crazy early! We ran around cleaning house and finishing up everything for his homecoming. And then... the big delay.
We were stuck there another 3 weeks working on feeding issues and he had to go back on O2. I guess at least you're ready now! I know how you feel - it is sooo painful to be told they're coming home and then to have a delay. But you're soooo close! One day this will all be a distant memory...you'll make it through! ;-)
