You have completed 5 weeks, so technically you are IN the middle of your 6th week. If that makes sense. Kinda like you completely ate 5 apples and now you are in the middle of eating your sixth.

Because you've completed 5 weeks and you are 2 days into the 6th week. Get it? It's like how I'm 29 years old, meaning I've completed 29 years and I'm now actually in my 30th year.
It's like being in your first year of life before your first birthday. You're not a year old yet, but you're in the middle of year 1.

Your 6th week is the days leading up to 6 weeks. So the week you are in is always one ahead of what you would say when you are counting. Your first week was day 1-7 so 0w1d etc. I don't know if that is at all clear.

On a related note, I had no idea it was calculated based on the first day of your last period until I got pregnant myself. Seems like the number of weeks you are should be based on when you conceived!
