My son turns 1 on the 25th and I finally decided on a theme. Dog! Im going to iron on him a #1 with a doggy on shirt for his outfit. It will be either blue and brown or green and brown for the party colors. Streamers and balloons with those colors, puppy confetti on the tables, homemade banner with the same dog on each side. Then doggy cupcakes and a little cake for him. For food I was thinking a hotdog bar, pasta salad, dip with chips and a veggie/fruit tray. How does that sound? Any ideas that might go with this theme? Its at our house and will be about 20 people! Oh also Im going to decorate a box and have everyone write on index cards a note to kyle that he can read later on(we did this with dd and she loves to read them now) and for a game Im going to make poster with pictures of his first milestones and have everyone guess the age he was when each milestone was reached. (also what we did at dds first bday)
Re: first birthday party-need input!
You can also serve "puppy chow"! I love that stuff!
Love the theme and I think the hot dog bar is cute! I second the puppy chow.. that stuff is amazing... a double batch lasts maybe a day in our house.
Are you doing favors? You could do dog bone shaped sugar cookies and wrap them in clear cellophane (sp?) with a tag that says thank you for coming or something like that.
ETA: I adore the idea of personal notes from the guests... I will definitely be stealing that one from you
Or even easier, they sell "Scooby Snacks" in snack pack bags, which are bone-shaped graham crackers. You can include little bouncy balls or tiny frisbees too. Sounds cute!!
