Crawling

My little man is still a little young I know but he wants to crawl so badly, he gets so red in the face and concentrates so hard it's adorable. Does anyone know how I can help him. I've tried putting my phone, which he is super interested in, just out of reach along with toys and myself- this seems to work but just wondering what others do.

Also, I think I read this but wanted to get others opinions/experience can some babies crawl before they sit  unassisted? Mine has no desire to sit unassisted- he gets bored and would rather roll over and around so I'm wondering if he will crawl first.?

and for reference he is 5 mos.

Re: Crawling

  • DS is the same way. He loves to roll, but is only slightly interested in sitting and can't sit on his own. When his toys are slightly out of reach, he reaches really hard for them and wiggles around . We think he may figure it out so we've started installing baby gates! He will be 5 months on Tuesday and I have no doubt he'll be crawling by 6 months! I think you can encourage it by letting them play on the floor and by teasing them with toys!
  • Loading the player...
  • Ds is also trying to crawl. I will put him on his back and he'll roll over to his stomache, then push himself up with his arms. He rocks his butt back and forth too...it's so stinking cute.

He gets fustrated after about 15min of this though. Our kids are growing up too fast!
  • My son never stops moving. If he's being held its because he is getting a bottle or asleep. He likes to be held if we are on the floor playing or walking around doing something but otherwise he wants you to put him down. He spends the majority of the day on the floor, he's on the floor so much that he scoots all over the room already. His favorite toy that really he's him going is a hallow ball that has another ball inside. He can grab it easily, it rattles and he's encouraged to chase after it when it gets away from him. I recommend one of those.

What brand is the ball... Sounds interesting!
