? for those who had Betas checked

I had a chemical pregnancy back in August so after this BFP, my doctor wanted to check hcg and progesterone. I had the first blood draw yesterday and then the second one tomorrow.

Did you doctor call you after the first round even though they don't really mean anything? Or did they wait to call after they knew they doubled?

My clinic does it in-house, so the draw is always in the AM and I get the results after lunchtime.

I would think you would want to know the first results asap so that you know whether you are positive or not. FTR, with this nurse I had to specifically ask for the numbers; she was just going to tell me it was "positive" and then that it had "risen appropriately."

my dr called, but just to let me know my progesterone was low so he was calling me in a prescription for prometrium.

Mine did, but I know of at least one woman whose Dr doesn't release the info until after the second draw.

My OB called me with the first beta numbers and basically just told me that were on track for where I was as far as dates and that the second round was what really mattered.

Yes because they were updating me on my progesterone level and letting me know I don't need supplements this time. I'm not sure if they would have called if they hadn't checked that as well.

I know my midwife doesn't call you until the results of the second draw. I went in today because I had some spotting, but the u/s looked normal-- I'm only 5 weeks, so it was just the gestational sac. My midwife wasn't concerned but wanted to check betas today and Friday just to make sure they are going up and not coming down. She told me she wouldn't call until after my results on Friday because the change in betas is more indicative of what's going on than the actual beta levels.

I called to find out the results because I wanted to know how high it was. I knew I was pregnant; I'd taken several HPT's. But I wanted to know where the number was at.
