Wearing your twins - carrier/wrap suggestions?

Anyone here wear their twins? If so, what carrier or wrap do you use?

Re: Wearing your twins - carrier/wrap suggestions?

  • I was only able to for the first couple of months because obviously evne though they're only X pounds, they're really twice that.

I had 2 carriers already, and Ergo and a Snuggli.  I put the Snuggli on the back (because the baby sat in there, not pinned between the carrier and me), I could just slip it on like a backpack safely.  I put the other baby in the Ergo on the front.  I never felt comfortable putting a baby in the Ergo on my back, even with just 1 baby unless someone was there to help me put baby in and take baby out.

I know the Moby wrap has a twin hold.  I had a Moby for DS1 and LOVED it (probably not quite as much as my Ergo, but still loved it), but I didn't care to use it for the twin hold.

  • I loved my maya wrap (ring sling) when they were little, and again in the hip carry when they were older.  DH and I both had ergos too which were great for walks/short hikes/the beach/whatever (we still used them at the beach/fairs at 3+ this past year).

I only wore them both when they were 1+ year...and that was in the ergos (1 on back, 1 in front) and only to get from point a to b without a stroller.

  • I have a Moby, baby Bjorn and ring sling.  Mobys ok, but it's so long and when I'm wrapping it drags on the floor.  Plus. I don't know if I'll like the stretchiness of it when they get bigger.  I haven't tried putting both in.  They are still too small for the Bjorn, but I have learned since getting them that they're not the greatest b/c of the position they force baby to be in (dangling from crotch rather than sitting).  And i just bought the ring sling and am really excited about it, although I haven't found it as easy to use as I thought it would be, but I'm still just getting used to it.  At Paxbaby you can actually rent different carriers, but this option is closed until the new year.  Good luck to you!
  • I found this video to be helpful, not sure that I'll wear them like that, but nice to see it can be done.

  • I have a moby wrap and britax carrier and I like the britax carrier a lot. The moby wrap is cool in theory but i always get nervous that the baby will fall through so I keep double and triple checking the way I wrapped it before putting the baby in.
