First U/S at 5wks 6days

Had the first u/s, the doctor said everything looked good with a good gestational sac and a yolk. He didn't say anything about a fetal pole and there was no heartbeat but he said this was fine and normal. Going back this time next week!!

 On the one hand I am relieved to find out this is not etopic and happy that he saw the yolk but I am also nervous till I see a heart beating. I think it is the hormones but this is more anxiety producing than I expected and I am finding it hard to be happy for the good news we receive in anticipation of the next milestone. I feel pathetic. Oh well, time for some deep breaths, positive thoughts,  and another 7 days wait.

I wont be having my first u/s until my 2nd appt in december. I have my confirmation appt next Friday though.

lucky you i wont even have my first prenatal appointment until the 27th and i dont think ill have an ultrasound then

Hey Hopeagain!

Congrats! I'm glad there is someone else in the same boat. We had our first U/S yesterday and same outcome. We suffered an ectopic last September so the fact that it was in the right place this time was such a relief! It looks like we're having a UFO :-)

 

I too was nervous about not being able to see more but the tech assured us that everything looks good for where we are at (6 weeks today, supposedly due on the 4th of July). How long had you be TTC before this one took?

Congrats!  I'm jealous that you got to have your first u/s already, mine is still almost 2 weeks away and I'm driving myself crazy with the waiting!

I am under early monitoring because I am seeing an RE after fertility treatments. Hope your 2 weeks go by quick!

We have been trying every cycle since Jan 2011, and have been with an RE since March of this year. IUI cycle 3 seems to have stuck for us (hopefully), it was our last before taking a fertility treatment break.

The tech gave us a little picture, I agree total UFO ) ...we are due on July 4th too!!  

Congrats on your spaceship, ...hope the hearts start fluttering soon!!

56 weeks is early for an u/s so most of us probably won't have one. But even a day can make such a difference at this point! It really is totally normal not to see anything besides what you saw! Glad it went well!
