The comments - on both sides of the political spectrum - are just ridiculous today.  A coworker compared Obama to Hitler and another said that he feels sorry for the sheep who are too short-sighted to think about the future.  On the other end a friend who's H is in the military very respectfully expressed unhappiness at the vote and then said that we should all still support our elected officials and contact them via email, letter, phone calls, etc. to let them know what we want and her mom - an avid Obama supporter - replied and told her to get over it and stop complaining!  I just don't understand what it is about politics that make people act like this.

 Someone on my friend's list said the exact same thing. And I need to stay off facebook for a few days, because it is making me crazy, too. More than being happy or sad about the outcome of the election, I am just looking forward to people keeping their opinions to themselves.

I can't stand the comments from the ones who just vote because they can. Yes I think everyone should vote - but I'd rather you didn't if you didn't do the research, form your own beliefs, or voted based on race...This used to be me - which was why I wasn't originally registered at 18.

My favorite was last night when Romney was ahead in the popular vote and behind in the electoral vote.  Really?  2000 called, they want their indignation back. 

On the plus side, maybe with the Republicans having a close call for that happening and the Dems having it actually have happened will make them get rid of the electoral college.

Wow. I have no patience for other people's ignorance. The bolded statement made me want to throw things. 

I am trying to find a cool cartogram of the election map with the states resized by population, but the internets are not cooperating.

FB people are being stupid on my feed too. I am biting my tongue. Here is a few:

"I can't believe this. I honestly thought it was a dream when I heard he was here for another 4 years. Guess its time to move gonna take a four yr vacation."

"Anyone know where we can pickup our free cell phones?"

--Followed with comments such as "In the line next to foodstamps" and "I'm picking mine up after i go get my escalade. Do not expect a thank you. I am entitled to it".

"My heart breaks for my beloved country. I'm terrified for my children's future. God speed, America."

"Enjoy it now, after 8 years you will not be able to blame bush for our shity economy ! I am disappointed but I respect the process.
