Re: CPW: Voting

  • I didnt vote but I tried to and was told my vote wouldn't count because I wasn't register in the right county. So yeah I didn't get to vote this year because I moved 3 years ago and tx failed to give me a new voters card at the right address when I asked for it. Wonderful! I cried last night over this.

WTH! That is stupid and messed up. MH isn't registered yet in our county (we just moved here last March), and they just had him vote with a Provisional Ballot. It's not counted right away, but as soon as they verify that you are actually a registered voter, it gets counted. I had to vote this way, too, because I had a mail-in ballot that I forgot to bring with me to the polls. They said it wouldn't be a big deal.

I was told I could vote Provisionaly but it wouldn't count because my registration error would be deemed my fault. Aka I didn't check to see where tx thought I lived before election day therefore I didn't really want to be registered to vote. Not that my vote either way would have changed anything in tx. Not that I don't think you should vote or wish I could have.

  • I didn't get to vote in what would have been my first presidential election because it wasn't within walking distance and my FI didn't get home from work until 11pm. It was okay though since things went the way I would've voted.
