Gender reveal party gift ideas??

DH's cousin is throwing a gender reveal party. She is due in March and we are really excited for our DS to get another playmate.

My question is what kind of gift should we get? Should I get a girl gift and a boy gift? I could take whatever gift I don't give back so it wouldn't be a waste of money. Or should we get a gender neutral gift?
Did any of you have gender reveal parties? If so what kind of gifts did you get? TIA for any ideas!

Re: Gender reveal party gift ideas??

  • Didn't have one: we just went to dinner with our parents and siblings, but please share how they tell you. I love that!

  • I actually just threw a gender reveal with a friend but she didn't get any gifts. We did it more as a fun celebration of her announcing. We had food and played some guessing games.

This is a fairly new phenomenon in my area.  But the parties are def no gifts.  Just food and fun.  I think if you do really want to bring her a present, and you have every right to do so, give it to her either before or after, or at least in private.  That way there is no awkwardness b/c no one else brought a gift.

Yes, this is a great idea. I, of course, bought my friend a gift and gave it to her when she told me before the party. And if it were me, I would rather diapers or a gift card rather than a gender neutral item.

Hmm... That's a good idea about giving her a gift in private. I never considered that other people may not bring presents. Which would be totally fine, I am just so excited for them and can't wait to get little boy or girl clothes for them! I am anxious to see how they reveal it. Thanks for the advice.
