~*~*Auntie*~*~

This may be a dumb question.  My DS is turning 13 this month.  I've explained the changes and puberty.  My question is it's still a struggle to get him to shower and brush his teeth, how do I get him to shave?

I was worried about him learning to drive a car but he's taken over mowing the lawn and does really well and extremely conscientious, unlike other areas of his life.  So I'm no longer as worried about that.

Re: ~*~*Auntie*~*~

  • Sorry, Yes he's AS, just Dx'd at 11.

And I haven't totally been able to parse out if the difference between stinky teen boy or AS.  At this point it doesn't actually matter.

So far I really get him to basic grooming bc/ I've made it part of the absolute schedule and drawing a direct coralation to taking the Boy Scout Oath that he obeys the Boy Scout law and remains clean. (it doesn't always work but he can't reason out of the logic)

He is largely ignoring that he's changing.

     Needed the cornflakes.

I live about an hour away from New Hope, in rural Chester County.  YEP he will be a rule boy knowing every speed limit of every road but not seeing the brake lights.

I was already going to delay driving until 17-18 hoping then he would be emotionally 12.
