You are aware that today your vote for president only determines how the elected officials will vote next month when they go to D.C and cast their vote in the actual presidential election? I for one am not a fan of the electoral college.
I am aware of the electoral college. Though I technically voted for my candidate's electors rather than my candidate, my vote still influenced the outcome of the election.
I would also like to take a minute to remind everyone that we're not only voting for a president today, we're voting for congressmen and senators, local officials, and constitutional amendments that may have an even greater impact on our day to day lives than the presidency. Please educate yourselves on your local issues and make informed and intelligent decisions!

I'm sure Dr. Worm took American Government in high school, too. The presidential election is not the only issue on the ballot and the local elections are also very important.

Exactly. I for one am more excited to vote for my local elections. Crossing my fingers that the marriage equality act is upheld in Maryland!
Like pps said, there are a lot of issues on every ballot that determine how your tax dollars are spent.
We don't have to agree on who the right representation is but not too long ago, women had to trust their husbands and fathers to vote in their best interest. I can't sit by and expect someone else to take care of me when I have the power to vote for myself.
