DD1 got them when she was 1.5 yeard old, and she hasn't had an ear infection since. The actual procedure was fast, and recovery was minimal. Let me know if you have any specific questions that I might be able to answer for you.
I'd consider a 2nd opinion before doing it. Tubes seem to be a neverending cycle these days. In my day, it was one and done! But, I also feel like they waited longer to put them in.
DS1 had 2 sets. We had them done at a Children's Hospital. It's an outpatient procedure, very quick. It's hard to see them put under but once they're finished, they're good to go. Good luck.
