Today was a good day for me because my OB appointment went well. I'm hoping to keep these two babies baking for a few more weeks, but it is nice to know that we made it to the 34-week mark no matter what happens!
GTKY: It depends on the visitor. MIL usually brings me magazines, which I love. My parents and my other in-laws have sent me little care packages of magazines and games in the mail. My brother has probably been the best, though--he always brings my dog a toy, and either ice cream, cookies, or candy for me! Most of my other family/friends ask me what they can bring, and I tell them not to bring anything, so they don't (I'm too polite, damn it! :-)).
I had a LMAO doctor appointment today! After the cerclage, steroid shots, magnesium, an one night stay in the hospital and 15 weeks of bed rest....I AM ONLY 1cm DILATED! WTH! My doctor was even surprised, he'll consult my MFM about my induction date due to my blood pressure.
GTKY: I did not have any visitors during bed rest but my MIL and best friend sent me care packages. MIL sent me coloring books, crossword puzzles, and crayons.
I had a growth/positioning u/s today and am so excited to learn that baby flipped head down over the weekend! He/she had been transverse for the past month and I was getting nervous about a c/s. Also, it was fun to see LO again! He/she is getting so big and now weighs a whopping 3 pounds 10 ounces! Woo Hoo!
GTKY: I haven't had too many visitors. I'm on modified bed rest so I try to go visit other people since I can do that and still follow my doctors orders to sit! Plus, it gets me out of my 4 walls.
However, MIL insists on bringing us dinner every week. It's so nice to know that once a week we'll eat like royalty! I do wish that others would let me borrow books/movies to pass the time when I am home...
Well the good news today is that I did not need to be induced this afternoon after my blood pressure spiked to 158/96 when I was at the doctors (so much for routine appointment). But a few hours at L/D and BP came back down. Phew! Bad news is my doctor thinks that I am showing more signs of preeclampsia than before. So it may just be a matter of time.
My mom always brings goodies from Canada that I can't get here in the us.
We have some friends who have brought meals here and there, it's been extremely helpful. One friend has brought flowers and little trinkets for DD. I had another friend bring flowers when I was in the hospital. MIL has brought over bunches of movies for us to borrow and yet another friend dropped off some needlepoint stuff from her mom, though I never started it. I love it when people bring food; that's the most helpful.
My mom made crockpot chicken Parmesan and it was delicious...I can't believe I have never thought of all these genius crock pot meal ideas. Now we are having a living room "camping trip" per DD's request...DH built a fort and now we are eating s'mores and watching a movie. It's the little things! ??
Gtky: I have had a lot of people bring me Starbucks, which I love! My mom brings dinners and goes to on craft store runs for me to complete my Pinterest needs! My friend who is also my hair dresser did my hair last week and that was amazing.
The only high point I have is baby is moving a lot today. He seemed lazy yesterday and I hardly felt him, which worried me. Today he is all over the place, but may be from all the candy I ate.
Visitors usually call and ask what Im in the mood to eat and they bring me lunch. Its nice to still eat all my fave foods and not have to leave the house!
High Point: There was nothing unusual that made today especially good, but I was happy when hubby got off work and came and cuddled with me in my little hospital bed!
GTKY: We know almost no one in this city (we moved here and I found out 2 weeks later I was pregnant, now we are prepping to move again as soon as baby is born and good to travel! We work in hotels), so I don't get visitors outside of my husband. Although my parents were here this weekend. They brought me flowers one day and my husband brings dinner and other meals (so I don't have to eat hospital food constantly). Tonight we had Indian food-- yum!
