New Baby!

We just found out this weekend we will be expecting our second baby!  This one is unplanned but we are very excited.  We are do mid July. Thankful for a great job and great insurance :) Our first will be 22 months at the time of delivery.

Little off topic but with the new baby coming does anyone have any suggestions when to convert our LO to a toddler bed?  I want him comfortable in his new bed before baby gets here. He is currently 14 months.

Re: New Baby!

  • Congratulations on baby#2

DD is 20 months and still in her crib. I plan to keep her in there for as long as I can. She didn't start sleeping in her crib till she was 4 or 5 months, so I think we have some time before newbie will need it.

  • Welcome and congrats! My son is 15 months right now, and we are slowly getting his "big boy room" ready.  We are in no rush to move him over but once it's finished I will let him play in there to get him excited about it. I do want him moved a couple of months before the baby arrives though so he doesn't feel as though his room (the nursery) is being taken away from him.

  • Welcome and Congrats! DS will only be a year and a half old when this LO arrives so he's staying in his crib. He didn't end up in it until about 6 months (I BF and it was easier to have him in the room), so even if I do the same he'll only be 2 when I transition this LO. So, I'm thinking we're just going to be getting a second crib.

  • My DD is almost two and we just moved her to a twin bed about two weeks ago. She had been sleeping in our bed on occasion and we were having a rough time getting her to fall asleep in her crib. In the twin bed I can lay down with her until she falls asleep. And if she wakes in the MOTN then I just go in and lay down with her for a bit. The bed is pretty tall and she hasn't tried to climb out by herself yet, but if she does then we will put a gate in her doorway. I don't want her roaming the house in the MOTN.
