Hey ladies!

Just wanted to take a second to say hello to everyone. I found out I was pregnant this weekend with #2. DS is 17 months old. I've got my fingers crossed for a healthy 9 months and a healthy baby. I'll be 37 when I deliver (baby is due 7/17 - my wedding anniversary!) and I can't help but think of all the things that could go wrong being an "older" mom. A little re-assurance would be awesome!

    Welcome and congrats! I can't speak from personal experience, but my mom was 36, nearing 37 when I was born and I turned out just fine. From what I know of it, I was a fairly uneventful pregnancy. Good luck!

    This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! 
    DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome.
    131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
    We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.

    Welcome to the board and congratulations!

    FYI - DH is an identical twin and he and his brother were born when his mom was 42.  They are extremely healthy (and big - each over 8 pounds at birth) and smart, and my MIL is one kick-ass woman :)
