The time change blows

Are your LOs all messed up from this?  Yesterday DS woke up at 4:25 (new time).  Even at the old time 5:25 is too early for the weekend!  He was cranky last night so we put him to bed at 6 and he woke up at 3:50!  He finally went back to sleep around 5, but then my alarm went off at 5:30!  So, I've basically been up since 3:50.  Argh!  Just needed to vent!

  • Thanks girl!  Yeah, it'll all work out in a few days.  I know I shouldn't complain that he slept 10 hours straight- he doesn't know what time it is.

  • We have not had any issues yet but I am keeping my fingers crossed. Me kept DS up until 9:15 PM last night (his normal bedtime is 9 ish) so he thought it was 10:15. He woke up at his normal time this morning. We also got lucky in that he took a 3 hour nap yesterday...I laid down with him with the hope that he would sleep longer for nap and it worked. I hope things will settle out soon for you because 3:50 is way too early!

  • DS was up before 4am yesterday and woke DD upit was the longest.day.ever. Today DS was up at 5:30a and DD was up at 6, so it was better.

I know from experience that it sucks but they adjust in a few days, stay strong and try to go to bed earlier so that you get some rest.

  • Yes!!! It is awful. Last night, DD went down at normal time, but woke up at 2:30 and stayed awake, alternating crying and playing, until 4!! Then got up at 7, which is the hour earlier than the old time. Arg... Praying for a two nap day we are going out to dinner tonight with friends, and I don't want to deal with a crank pot!

  • I kept her up a little later the night of the time change and she adjusted pretty quickly.
  • We had our own issues Saturday night unrelated to the time change.  And as awful as it was, it kind of ended up helping us out.  LBB slept till almost 7 yesterday morning and only woke up 15 minutes earlier today.

  • The time change has never affected my DD but for some reason it's got DS in a complete mess. He was up before 6am yesterday. 6:20 today. 7:30 is normal wakeup time.

This is with bedtime being at 8:30pm instead of 8pm both nights. We did that to encourage a later wake up time, but that just didn't work in our favor. I have no advice since this is the very first time I am dealing with it, even with an older child.
