I'm just hanging out here on Sunday morning (LO is napping) and I'm new around here so I thought I would give you all a chance to ask me anything!

How old are you? 28

How many kids do you want? Well, I would like 2 or 3, but it's not quite that simple. If we adopt again, we will only do it once more.

What part of the US/Canada/World are you from? I am from Arizona, live in New Mexico

What is better--twix or milky ways? Not crazy about either.... but I'll take a snickers!

What did you/LO dress up as for Halloween? (I missed the costume thread) He was a monster, cute, not scary

What do you normally do on Sundays? We're usually low key, maybe a Costco run and some cleaning

were you ever worried that the birth parents were going to back out and keep LO?

How did you come up with the $ for the adoption?

(not to pry, or anything.. just wondering since we're thinking about it too!)

were you ever worried that the birth parents were going to back out and keep LO? Heck yeah! Birth father was not in the picture at the time and his rights were terminated a few months before. But with his birth mom, we had to keep the mind set that he was not our baby until papers were signed. We took him home from the hospital and had him with us for 24 hours before she terminated her rights. The phone call that she had signed was one of the biggest reliefs I've ever felt.

How did you come up with the $ for the adoption? We had the money saved and sold some stocks. My parents also helped us out a little bit, which was so nice of them.

I always thought adoption would be the route I had to take, but I was fortunate in that my body finally figured out what it was supposed to do.  I think it's really awesome that you all were able to get your LO and it all went through.  I'm excited for you.  I know of couples that have had to go this and it was very difficult.  I'm sure it wasn't easy for  you all either.

So, on that lines, I'll be nosie and ask.  Why did you have to do adoption?

How long did you all have to wait for LO? *he's a cutie*

Will you be open with him about the fact that he's adopted?

What's the "ultimate" laundry smell for?  Tide, Gain, ...?

Coffee or Tea?

Cream and Sugar, or plain?

Flowers or Candy?

Are you a SAHM or do you work outside of the home also?  If so, what do you do?  Or what did you do before LO?

How long did you all have to wait for LO? We were only in our agency's matchbook for about 6 months, it was quick! We had about 6 weeks notice before he was born.

Will you be open with him about the fact that he's adopted? Of course! We have a lot of kids books about adoption and a board book with pictures of family that includes his birth parents.

What's the "ultimate" laundry smell for?  Tide, Gain, ...? I use Costco's lavender soap and liquid softener. Smells so good!

Coffee or Tea? Coffee!

Cream and Sugar, or plain? Either sweet cream or just black

Flowers or Candy? Flowers

Are you a SAHM or do you work outside of the home also?  If so, what do you do?  Or what did you do before LO? I stay at home. I worked for a general contractor for 5 years but quit working with DH and I moved just over a year ago.

Did you have a boy or girl preference? No. Most agencies won't even let you specify. Ours does allow you to but it usually means that your wait is much longer. I kind of feel like you shouldn't get a choice. I mean, an amazing young woman chose us to be the parents of her baby, how crazy would it be for us to say no, your baby isn't good enough for us because it's a boy and we wanted a girl..... You have no say when having biological children so why should you when adopting?

I am pretty opinionated about this one, if you couldn't tell.....

Do you keep in contact with the birth mom? Yes, well, kind of.... We have kept in touch all along but she has stopped responding recently. Hopefully it doesn't last long.... I'm really worried about her. She lives in a different state, but it's where my family is so we visit a lot. We see her whenever we're there.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? I usually have cereal, Oatmeal Squares!
