omg why?!?

Does anyone else's little one wake up like the fricken sky is falling? I've tried everything every book suggests and we only get 30 to 45 minute naps, and at that point there is no slow wake up, or just laying and cooing till I come in. He wakes up screaming bloody murder. I spend a half hour calming him down, which pits any hope of hom gping back to sleep out the window. Then I spend a half hour attempting to entertain him while he is fussy and cranky and screams the second he isn't entertained. Then I spend a half hour trying to get him back to sleep while he fussed and screams. The cycle continues from after his first nap at 9:30 until bedtime at 8ish. Since moving to crib he wakes 3 times a night screaming better than the 8 times he woke up whole cosleeping. The ONLY time he doesn't wake up screaming is if I intervene before he actually wakes up, such as if he is sleeping or napping with me. Ugh. Sorry to vent. Does anyone else go through this? I'm exhausted!

I don't know why my posts keep doing that^^^

DD2 is the same way. She wakes up and cries like she's on fire. DD1 never did that. She'd wake up and talk to herself, makes noises, look around, etc for at least 20 mins before even thinking about hollering for me. I think this LO just has a bit more of seperation anxiety. It's something they'll have to grow out of as they get older.

  • My DS did this and it was a phase. He still does it once in a while. He is 5 months today. It started at 3 months and peaked at 4 months. He doesn't do it very often anymore. I have posted about this more than once...It does stop. Hang in there.!

Oh thank God lol this gives me hope that it'll stop. I'd love to go pick up a cooing baby boy, not a screaming one. I was starting to think something was wrong. It HAS peaked at 4 months.

  • Ds was like that which is why for my sanity I started napping with him.  I don't know if it was his personality or if it was bc I didn't know at the time that he had dairy and gluten intolerances.  Dd has rarely done that and has on,y happened when she had a trapped burb.
