Re: Moms' Check-in! 11/2
1. DD, will be 3 in March, adopted domestically at 2 days old
2. We were all about Halloween this week. DD went to 2 different parties, including a giant ToT at our local high school. She dressed as a dragon for one, and had a meltdown and changed into her princess costume for the other
3. Not really. DD has turned the corner as far as potty training goes, and I managed to handle an accident at Target without losing my marbles.
4. Knitting for me, makeup gymnastics class for DD, doing some things around the house
5. DD is pretty easy going, and has been that way from the start. My family always considered me high-strung, but I mellowed when DD came along. We had had our moments during her Terrible Twos (not that bad all things considered), and I try to work on it whenever I look back and realize I lost all patience here and there. I have learned that she gets very stubborn if I'm overly stern with her or start to lose my patience. If I can take a breath and redirect, things turn out WAY better. Raising kids is FUN!
1. How many kids and ages? One DS, 6 months
2. Anything special/endearing/milestone-ish happen this week? He is THISCLOSE to rolling. I keep trying to make sure I don't miss it.
3. Any parenting concerns on your heart or mind this week? Because EVERYTHING is more interesting than eating, it has been really tough to get him to eat recently. I think the only mother whose child didn't want to eat more than mine might have been Gandhi's.
4. Weekend plans? Dinner with friends and busy with church stuff.
5. Question of the Week: What is your child(ren)'s temperment like compared to yours? Does it make it easier or more difficult to parent them? Actually, his is somewhat similar to mine. He is pretty laid back, but he also likes activity and people a lot. It makes it easy so far!
