First hair cut

I think I am going to take DD for her first hair cut this weekend. Her bangs are in her eyes and the the back is getting really long while the front is not (AKA "a mullet")

Anything I need to know? Can I just take her to Super Cuts? Do I bring  a booster seat? Obviously my camera too

I would call over to supercuts to see if they have a little seat or if they recommend you bring one along. DD has had a few cuts so far (this kid has such a mop of hair!!). The first 2 she sat on DH's lap at the Kids Kuts place and then the other 2 she sat in a booster seat when my hairdresser friend trimmed her.

Oh sitting on a lap is a good idea! Not sure why I didn't think of it, but it might be a good idea - DD doesn't really like other people holding her or anything. But if she was on my lap, she might be more comfortable.

Please post before and after pictures!! I haven't taken my LO yet. She definitely could use it because she has a little mullet now, too!! I'm trying to hold off and let her bangs grow out, but she doesn't like wearing clips so they are constantly down over her eyes. It doesn't seem to bother her, but it drives me nuts. lol

It is best if she is asleep.  I made the mistake of waking our DS up to get his first full hair cut, it was really bad.  She couldn't even finish cutting his hair.

 

They do have everything you need.  I forget if ours was a Super Cuts or another similar.

I brought a dum dum sucker from a halloween party we went to and she was so intrigued by this new yummy thing she didn't even notice we were cutting her hair.  We only trimmed the back so the front might not be as unnoticable.  We did not cut the front because once you start you can't stop and I dont want bangs to deal with growing out later.

I will try to remember to post pics tomorrow but it went really well! I took her to a speciality hair place that only does kids hair. It was expensive but they really cater to kids. They had a special cushion for her to sit on. They had drawers full of toys for the kids to play with. The hair stylist knew exactly what I wanted (kept her hair long but evened it out) and even put a hair barrett in her hair that STAYED ALL DAY!!
