soaking a pad...?

This might be a really stupid question and I'm embarrassed to even ask it. But, when they say soaking through a pad... does it mean that the whole pad is like literally soaked? Or just enough that you can see if from the other side but not the whole length of the pad is soaked??? I'm a tad bit confused lol

Re: soaking a pad...?

  • I would consider either soaking. Honestly, I would consider any reasonable amount to be soaking. Has this happened to you? Please call your doctor ASAP and if you can't get them on the phone within 30 minutes, I would run over to the ER.

  • I agree with cloud bee. Neither one seems normal to me, so I would call, or head to the ER just to get checked out. Do you have a history of bleeding? Has this happened to you before? GL Momma!

  • I have been bleeding for a few weeks now. I've been to the ER 3 times and I just had my A/S yesterday. Every time, my cervix is closed and baby has a good heartbeat. The past week it's been brown.

  • I would consider either soaking a pad. It would seem like a lot to me. I have had spotting with this pregnancy but not that much. I would call if your having that much bleeding. With my first pregnancy I bleed for 12 hours and baby was absolutely fine, my placenta had started to detach so I was put on bed rest. Bleeding doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage but it does mean call your dr and get checked. Good luck to you. Hugs. I personally know how scary it can be.

    since you've been to the ER three times and had your  a/s and its brown, I wouldn't be too concerned, what did your OB say was the cause?

    I don't go to the OB until Thursday and I'm hoping they will know when I go.

  • I have been bleeding for 14 weeks, so can relate.  Brown is better than red, it means it is old blood.  :)  Soaking a pad to me means filling one.  I really hope everything is okay. {{HUG}}
