I live in northern nj and we were VERY lucky that all we lost was power. Many areas very close to us were devastated by the storm. Family members and friends lost their homes. It's just unbelievably awful. We are still without power since Monday evening. Thankfully we spent the past 2 nights with a friend. And my parents just got power so we are heading there today. The lines for gas are insane, I've never seen anything like it in my life. I feel like I am living in a parallel universe out mail was delivered and ups is all over, yet people have no gas for generators to heat their homes. And hospitals are being evacuated and others still have 4 feet of water in their homes.
Hope all of you did ok in this storm. I can tell you, it taught me one of many things, get your emergency kits ready! We were lucky and were able to stock up on batteries, water, non perishable milk but u never know when u will lose all modern conveniences and be totally screwed.
Thinking if all of you and sending out my best wishes that this too shall pass.....
On a positive note, my little pork chop is 10 days old and is aleady way above his birth weight. BF is going well. And DD is having fun on our pretend vacation after the storm.
Hopefully picture is comin soon, and birth story! Too mug to type on phone.

Re: Still no power
((Hugs)) I'm sorry you guys are still with out power. I'm glad that you are safe and sound, though, and have a warm, dry place to go. That's great that LO is doing so well despite the weather out side.
You're right about getting emergency kits ready, no matter where we live. I have never thought of the NE as prime hurricane area, but obviously it happens. We live on the western side of PA, so all we got over here was a steady rain. If it had been worse, though, I know DH and I would not have been prepared. This was a wake up call for me that we need to get prepared for anything. Especially since we have a daughter to protect now.
Glad you guys are ok! I hope the other NE ladies are, too.

This time I'm not leaving without you.
Argh, bump ate my reply.
I'm sorry you are dealing with this, and with a brand new LO too! T&Ps to you and your friends and family. Congrats on being back above birth weight already in spite of everything.
