C-sections

Belt/girdle after C-section?

My MIL told me that back in the day she was given a "girdle" after her CS and that it helped immensely with the jiggly organ sensation/pain following the surgery. (I'm having a RCS and with the first every time I moved I felt like my organs were loosely moving around inside of me).

Does anyone know if there are post-cs belts/girdles these days? Where do I get them from? I'm gonna ask my OB too but wanted advice here...

  • The hospital gave me what they called a Binder after my c/s and told me that it really helped with that feeling... "keep everything together" is what they said!  I LOVED it.  It made it a bit easier to move around and I felt like my insides were protected... lol

I wore it the whole time I was in the hosiptal but I didn't wear it too long after I got home, it became uncomfortable for me when I was home, plus I had what the dr told me before I was discharged in the back of my head, that the longer you wear it the longer it takes for your core muscles to get back in shape.  The binder allows your muscles to relax so they aren't really working on their own like they are when they are fully "exposed".  Goodluck :)

  • They also gave me a binder in the hospital.  I wear it now when I know I am going to be on my feet for a long period of time.
  • I didn't get anything from the hospital but I bought a Belly Band from BRU and loved it.  I will definitely use it again.
  • The hospital gave me one and I also purchased one from BRU. I started wearing mine immediately, and a month later...I still wear it all day long!!! As of today, I have lost all my baby weight and I fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans. I'm amazed how much of a difference the binder has done for me. I would definitely buy one!!!!

  • I used a Belly Bandit after my last CS and it was great.  It just kept all my flab from moving around and pulling on the incision.

  • Bought one from a specialty baby store called Cotton Babies. I tried it once afterwards and hated it. Some people swear by them though.
