Beta Confusion

Went to the OB on Monday and had blood drawn for confirmation. Went in today to test urine for UTI (which was negative thankfully) and while there I asked what my beta was on Monday. She said 197. I asked if it was normal she said based on your LMP 9/24 you would be 5 weeks 3 days then looked at some chart and said normal is 1,000-50,000 but then said she never uses that because all that matters is that the numbers doubled. So she said since your here we will just draw again (results on Monday) maybe I shouldn't have asked because now I'm worried about it.

IF I ovulated on day 14 I would have tested 15dpo and received a BFN. I tested again on 18DPO and it was positive. I guess it's possible I ovulated late. Hmmm

My guess is you ovulated late.  If you use my LMP, my EDD would be 6/19.  I was charting and using OPKs, so I happen to know that I ovulated on CD30, putting my EDD at 7/4.  So as you can see, there can be a huge difference between the two dates.  If you happen to know when you ovulated, this website has some helpful info: https://www.betabase.info/  I think it's unlikely to get a false negative at 15dpo.

You had a blood draw today and won't get results till Monday?!?!

Yeah, that's what they said. I didn't go in until 3pm so I'm guessing that's why. If I went in the morning they'd probably have them tomorrow

Thanks for the info! It does sound like I ovulated later which doesn't matter to me. I have my first ultrasound on 11/15 so hopefully It's not to early to hear a heartbeat

Is it an outside lab or something?  I alwaysw get results same say (although I go in by 8-9)

Hmm I don't know. Like you, I usually go in at 8am and get results that afternoon. So it must be the timing pls I think their office closes at noon on Fridays.

This! On both accounts I'm guessing you didn't do any OPK's or chart? It's very likely you O'd late. I've been having 27 day cycles and O'ing on CD 19 or 20.

197 is an ok number for 5w. See the chart at the bottom of this website. You are probably closer to 5w than 6w and I would think would use the 5w number. Fingers crossed for doubling numbers. I know how excruciating that wait is!
