My pedi said right away, even a minute or two at a time, on you, the boppy, whatever. It's what helps them build their muscles up so they can hold their heads up.
I have read things that say right away, but our Dr said to start it as soon as his cord fell off. She said how ever long he would tolerate at least a few times a day.
We did right away, but mostly on his tummy on my chest. Now sometimes I do it on the Boppy, but he doesn't last that way for long. He has pretty good head control now.

We've been doing tummy time from day one. She obviously hated it at first, but she'll last about 15-20 minutes now that she can hold her head up for a while. She's starting to like it more and more.
We started right away. It is what helps them develop good head control. My DD has always been a fan of tummy time. Once she learned to roll back to tummy at 3 months there was no keeping her on her back anymore!
