there is an article in the Philly paper about the photographer who took our nicu pictures... so fitting on the first day of prematurity awareness month!
I just posted in your other thread but we also got the pictures from the people that come around the day you are discharged and it was a horrible experience. The woman had no tact and no experience with the NICU apparently because she said "normal moms" this and "oh he is so small... aren't you scared he will break?" and "normally I would arrange him myself but I don't want to break him" ... i am sure she was nervous but she could have said things a little nicer. I was also extremely sensitive at the time and it did not help. the pictures are cute because my son is freaking adorable but it was a bad experience... and cost is $300!
A photographer from pictures of hope took pictures for us the day ds2 came home. She lives an hour drive from our hospital. We were surprised she agreed to it. She was super nice and was a preemie mom herself. We haven't gotten the pics yet, but they looked great on her camera!
ETA and they're free. 25 4 by 6's and then everything else is 25 percent off.

ours were also free... she just gave me the digital proofs to print as I wished.
Thanks for posting the link. Robin took the pictures for us also at the NICU at Abington Memorial Hospital.
Oh so cool! I loved it there... well as much as anyone can love the NICU. i thought the doctors and nurses were amazing!
ETA- also not "so cool' that you are there... but that she took your pictures as well... I feel like if you read my post it was full of YAY you have a preemie... it wasn't meant that way. Just that if you have to be there you are in a great place. I am actually taking my son to Abington to get an ultrasound tomorrow and was thinking of stopping up there to say hi to some of the nurses.
