Adoption

Non-update-y update

Sorry I've been MIA, this last week was our craziest of the semester (and this one is trying to compete for the title).

So it turns out we may be able to adopt the little girl who's waiting for a family through our agency, even though she's "with" another agency. I don't know what it depends on, but our agency just had their fundraising gala last night, so we're waiting on them to get caught up (and recuperated, I bet!) to have an answer.

DH does not want to change agencies come heck er high water, so if we can adopt her through our agency, we probably will, but if we can't, we won't. I'm at peace with that, since I can see the benefits and downsides to adopting quickly (and adopting a child a couple of months older than DS) and adopting in a year or so (and adopting a child at least 6 months younger than DS).

So that's where we are. If we can adopt her, feel free to send Ts & Ps that we'll be able to raise, oh, $12,000 ASAP.

Re: Non-update-y update

  • Thoughts and prayers for you guys, the money is such a hard part of adoption.  I'm glad you are at peace either way.  I hope you get that $12,000 I need to win the lottery so we can all fund our adoptions!!
