TTC while sick - thoughts?

When you or DH or both were sick during your fertile days, did you press on or give up for that cycle? 

DS has had a cold and I caught it at just the wrong time of the month. We did have sex this morning and my gut tells me that it was the right decision. I am not THAT sick. But I was wondering where you ladies would draw the line. I guess it is something of a judgment call depending on the importance of a particular cycle to you, how sick you are, how important it is that you don't pass the illness from you to DH or vice-versa, etc. 

Do you know at what point it is definitely a no-no to keep trying? (e.g. fever, stomach bug, etc?) Not that I'd be tempted under those conditions, but I'm just curious...I imagine if you're sick enough the baby isn't going to make it anyway. 

ETA: my bad, I thought that very high fevers were bad for embryos (maybe not zygotes, though??), and that is one reason you should not go in a hot tub in your first trimester. I'll have to look into this. Maybe this has been disproven since I last TTC a few years ago. Or maybe it was always wrong...? 

2nd edit: I briefly looked into it and what I had recalled was the fact that high fevers are bad for weeks 4-14 and put the embryo at risk for spinal bifida. So...maybe/probably not a problem at "week 2" when you're just trying to get pregnant.

We just don't if either of us are sick & not in the mood. I don't feel like we are at a point yet after 6 cycles that we need to press on, regardless if one of us isn't feeling well, but down the road, who knows.

On that note, the only time we abstain from sex or physical closeness is if either of us has the flu or something just as bad only because were physically not capable. Otherwise, we sleep in the same bed, share a house etc....we will catch it if we're going to catch it.

This.  If it's so bad we aren't able to then we don't otherwise we keep on.

We get busy unless the sickness has us bedridden and incapacitated. Also, I don't think the common cold or flu will induce miscarriage by any means.

really? why? so I screwed up the conception/sickness thing but I called myself out on it and provided information for anyone who was wondering about illness and pregnancy (because it does matter).

Maybe the question was just stupid to begin with, I guess (in your mind)?

Dh and I both had really bad sinus infections last month during FW.  I gave up on temping around cd 8.

We've tried while sick before, usually with just one of us being sick.  But we were both really sick and I was having trouble breathing just going up and down the stairs, let alone sex.  So last month was a bust.
