I listened to my gut...

I had a bad gut feeling about the OBGYN I chose.  They were rude to me and I didn't want to wait until December 12th for my first appointment.  I called and scheduled another appointment at a different doctor and I'm already feeling more at ease.

They wanted to see me on November 14th and they were so nice.  I guess the point to this post is to listen to your gut!  I hope everyone has a great day!

Thank you!  I'm already feeling a lot better.  I just got a better vibe from this new place.

  • Having on OB and an office that you like is so important! You'll be having so many appointments there over the next 9 months. I'm glad you were able to get an earlier appointment too!
  • Good for you in making the right decision! =)

  • I am in the same boat. The first Dr. I went to was a ***, I told him i had low progesterone with my daughter and had to take meds and he told me "We don't test if your going to be pregnant you will" well that was not flying..Have an appointment tonight to see someone else, they are checking my levels. What a jerk he was.

  • I'm also searching for a new provider.... thinking of going from an OB office (where everyone is really rushed and as a result, can be rude) and I'm thinking about switching to a midwife but that's opened a whole different can of worms since we know nothing about the midwife groups around here. It's complicated to feel like you need to interview providers but seriously you seriously need to IMHO.

I hope that you love your new provider and that they treat you like a customer instead of just a number. It's so important to feel comfortable!

  • Good for you! I am in the same boat (i think) as well. The OBGYN (the only one in the town closest to me other than a very old scary man) has gotten some pretty nasty reviews. One of them stated "I wouldn't wish this woman on my worst enemy".  My DH didnt think we should try it out but I gave her the benefit of the doubt.   Except after I called in today to make an appointment (that wont be until Dec. 6th :( ) They didnt ask me ANY personal questions... Now how are you feeling? Do you have any questions? Want us to send you some informative pamplets? Any reasons you think you should be seen earlier?... Nothing. After talking with a couple friends, I guess it's really weird they didnt ask me anything like that and now I'm starting to wonder if I made the right choice.

The only alternative is a 50 minute drive North. Instead of 30 minutes to the Dr I scheduled with. There's a great Dr. up there but I'm scared that will be too far...
