If you have one at home what brand did you go with? DH and I are thinking of getting one for the kids next summer and just started pricing them out. He was shocked at how much some of them are! I don't want to buy a piece of junk that won't last but I also can't justify spending $1500+ on one either. Did anyone go with one from TRU?
Re: Swing Set recs?
We wanted to buy a set that would grow with our kids. We bought this one at Sam's club and have been very happy with it. DH put it together over a couple of weeks. Age range is 3-10 years, but I'd say it will easily last past 10 years.
If you really don't want to spend a lot of money but want to buy something of good quality, I would check Craigslist. You'll find Rainbow and other brand name systems for $500-1000.
We bought a TRU set off of Craigslist for my parents' cottage. I think we paid $100 or $150 for it. This is the set. You totally get what you pay for. Even with adding additional wood, the whole set still moves with 2 kids swinging. (And this is with it anchored down.) DD1 is 6 yo and is really too big for the monkey bars. The recommended age range on the set is 3-10 years, but I don't think it would last past 8, if that.

We have this one. DH put it up this summer and it is Awesome. Does not move at all. I liked how it was not huge, but had the monkey bars on the back, two swings, glider, slide etc.
