Cloth Diapering

Gerber Prefolds

I'm a little concerned that I don't have enough newborn diapers...so here's my question: my DS was a spitter and I have a ton of Gerber prefolds that we used as burp rags. I know people on here generally hate them, but think they'd be ok for newborn use? They've already been washed a thousand times and it'd be easy to just buy a snappi and a couple covers.

Re: Gerber Prefolds

  • Yeah, theyweren't meant to be actual diapers. They don't absorb at all.

  • It wouldn't hurt to try them!

  • I have some for spit up also but on laundry day I had to use some.  They aren't as absorbent or soft as a high grade PF but they work with a cover in a little.  I had to change them pretty often but we have so many it didn't really matter!  I added an insert from another diaper to them and also a cover. I wouldn't use them as a daily thing but they may work for you!

  • We used them and they do okay. They are small but fit our itty bitty well for a while. We had to change them hourly though.
