Recurrence rate of GD?

I had GD with my first, back in 2011. It got hairy towards the end. I just found out I'm pregnant again (yay!) and wonder, what are the chances I will get GD again?

    I have never been able to find actually percentages or anything, but it's a pretty good chance. You will probably be tested earlier (if your OB doesn't order it, I would ask for it) since it can present earlier in subsequent pregnancies. On the plus side, I had an easier time with #2 since I already knew what worked for me and had mastered my insulin technique ;)

    Congratulations with #2. I was diagnosed with GD at 8weeks this time. I thought that was early but my doctor had my start checking my own BS periodically around 7 weeks. He said if I had GD while the organs were forming it was important to know. Good luck!
