So it's been 3 days since I got sick from eating the sub and I've still got a horrible pain in my left side just below my ribs. It gets worse when I eat so I haven't eaten much. A couple hours ago the pain began to extend down into my left ovary area. It's a sharp, stabbing pain. It makes it hard to stand up straight or exhale completely. It only feels better when I lay down on my left side. I finally called the OB and am waiting for them to call me back. I thought about going over to the ER, but don't want the expense of that if it's not necessary. I'm not bleeding or cramping, so I'm still pretty sure that it has nothing to do with the LO. I'm not worried about that, I'm just worried that something is wrong with my stomach/digestive system. I'm getting it checked out today. This not being able to eat is getting old really quickly!!

Thanks! I haven't tried TUMS, but they did give me Zantac in the ER and it didn't do anything. I didn't vomit when I got sick from the food, I just had diarrhea really bad! But, I took the day off today and have been laying around, and haven't had any pain all day. This makes me believe that it quite possibly could have been a ligament strain around my ribs. When the dr. was touching the area on my left side right below my ribcage, I was jumping off the table, so it's something in that area. There are no major organs there, so it sure seems like ligament pain. Not sure how I would have gotten that bad of a strain there...but strange things happen in pregnancy!! I feel a little foolish for making such a big deal out of it, but since it happened right after the food sickness, I couldn't help but worry that it was something to do with my stomach. Anyway, I'm finally feeling better today with rest. I am going to take the Miralax...it has to help with this bloating. I think the rib pain was getting worse with eating because I get so bloated when I eat that it was putting pressure on it. Oh well...I can relax now that I know it's nothing serious.
