Sore, Erect Nipples?

We have been TTC this month and my period would theoretically be due later this week (I have not been charting so I don't know exactly when I ovulated, and I am recently off the pill so I don't know exactly how many days my cycle will be).  I took a pregnancy test today and it was negative, but based on timing it could just be too early.  For the past 5 days I have been completely exhausted (falling asleep really early, sleeping 12 hours and still being tired later that day) and my nipples have been sore for the past few days.  Not my breasts, just the nipples themselves.  They have also been erect pretty much 24/7.  I have never experienced this before.  Could this be a pregnancy symptom?  Is this normal?  They are not darkening or anything, just sore.

Totally pregnant. HPT are known for giving false negatives. Break out the bubbly, because dang girl, you're knocked up!

You won't know until you get a positive HPT result. With DD I felt most of your symptoms before I got my BFP. Not confirming or denying you're KU, but hoping for the eat for you.

I may have jumped the gun and tested too early so I'm wondering if it's possible for this to be a symptom before I would test positive.  I believe AF is due around Thursday so I am about 3-4 days early, but again I am not charting and recently went off the pill so it's hard to know exactly.  I know this early before AF is due tests are not so accurate... but I also don't want to keep my hopes up if I'm definitely not pregnant.

 I'm also asking because I had never heard of JUST nipples being sore and not the whole breast.  I'm definitely not making it up and I have never had this as a PMS symptom before, but maybe it's related to going off the pill instead of pregnancy...

 I also had what *could* have been IB and slight cramps last week but it also could just have been some light spotting or nothing at all...   How noticeable is IB usually?

 

On the other hand, this is probably just wishful thinking and anxiety playing out, so I should probably just accept my BFN and wait for next month.

I would have to see a picture of your sore nipples to determine whether or not it is due to the weather, arousal, or pregnancy. It really can't be determined via description, as a prognosis such as this is a delicate science.

 Girlfriend seriously, what do you want us to say here? Wait, take another pregnancy test and see. We can't tell you you're pregnant over the internet.

It is entirely possible to have just sore nipples. Depends on what your hormones are doing.

Test again in a few days. If it's still negative, start charting and see if you can figure out what your body is doing.

Sounds like a cold fall day. I find wearing a bra with some padding helps keep my nips warm.

Oh my... I've been off the boards for too long, because I read this as "irritable bowel".  How noticeable? Well, if you are spotting/slightly pooping your pants I'd say that's pretty noticeable.

I had the exact same symptoms my first cycle off BCP, (especially the sore erect nipples...it was strange...) but AF made an appearance 4 days ago, so definitely not pregnant! Obviously everyones different but your symptoms could be anything! good luck though!

I did too. May have something to do with progesterone or other hormone stuff that goes on when your body is trying to figure things out after the pill.
