Every fall season I always reflect on how incredibly lucky I am to have grown up and live in where I am currently. Everything is so beautiful with the changing colors and people in general seem to be in higher spirits than much of the year. So it got me wondering:
Where do you live?
What's a fun "fact" about where you live?
What's something that you love about it?
What's something about it that you wish you could change?

Where do you live? Oregon
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? We don't use umbrellas! I've never even owned an umbrella. Just throw on your waterproof jacket and you're good to go.
What's something that you love about it? Oregon has everything! Lakes, rivers, the coast, mountains, desert, 4 seasons. And it's pretty much all within an hour drive from wherever you are.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Although they're not exclusive to Oregon, I can't stand the 18-30somethings that have their flat billed hats, baggy pants and blaring bass who talk like they're from the ghetto. You're in Oregon! You're not a gangster. I wouldn't mind getting rid of them.
Where do you live? I live in northwest NJ.
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? When people think of NJ, they tend think of places like Camden and Trenton and such, but the vast majority of the state is actually small towns and farmland. There are SO MANY farms where I live.
What's something that you love about it? I love having the best of all possible worlds. I live in the suburbs with a house on a decent amount of land, and I'm close enough to farms to buy really fresh meat and eggs and cheese right from the farmer, and there's an awesome farmers' market right across the river from me in PA. But there are also some really cute smaller cities nearby, and New York City and Philadelphia are just over an hour away, so it's easy to go in for a play or a concert, or even just grabbing dinner with friends.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? The lack of public transportation. Options are really limited here, so I'm forced to drive pretty much everywhere locally, and what few options we have to get to NYC or Philly are more expensive than driving. No, Transbridge, I will not pay $40 round trip bus to Port Authority when I can just drive to Jersey City, pay no tolls, park for free, and spend $4 round trip on the PATH. :-P
Where do you live? Charlotte, NC
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? They call downtown 'uptown' and Queen City. In fact, people look at you like you are crazy if you say you are going downtown. The road and highway signs even say 'uptown'
What's something that you love about it? Even though uptown is the heart of Charlotte-there is a lot of areas like NoDa & Dillworth that are close by, have more of an eclectic vibe and some great food. Also the beach and mountains are both about 2-3 hours away which makes for a perfect weekend trip.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Traffic!! Being from up North I feel as though people down here cannot drive in rain at all. Maybe they think the same about us though.

Where do you live? Houston, Tx
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? I'm sure there is a better fact than this, but Houston is home to what was once considered the "8th wonder of the world", the Astrodome. Interestingly enough, it is now a condemned building :-( (which makes me sad). Also, we have the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo every year!!
What's something that you love about it? The people here are pretty friendly, considering it is such a huge city. Plus, business is still booming here (for the most part), and we have low cost of living.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Two things: traffic (ick) and seasons. We basically have Summer, Spring, and "Cold-front season". I wish we had a true fall. It's a lovely 50-60 degrees outside right now and will be a high of 70 (LOVING IT). However, highs are expected to be back in the 80s at the end of the week, and there is no guarantee that the 90s won't return before Thanksgiving!

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
Where do yo live? Swanton, VT
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? We are the second whitest state... i say this because i am bi-racial, so I have been the only person of color in my town for many years... Starting to get more people of color moving to town in the last year though.
What's something that you love about it? I love that we have "4" seasons. There is Winter, still winter, Construction, and almost winter....Lol. We do get some beautiful foliage durring the almost winter time though.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Nothing really, I like most everything there is. THe winters usually suck a lot, but we enjoy it. We love the snow... until it melts, and floods everything.
Where do you live? Mallorca, Spain
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? As the island is so small, no matter where you live you are never more than an hr and half from the sea.
What's something that you love about it? Firstly the weather is fantastic. We have glorious summers with temps averaging 94, but going higher than 100 during heatwaves. Winters are not severe at all being cold at 40 degrees and we sometimes have snow.
The island is great for family holidays by the pool or beach, Google the beach at "Es Trenc" but we also have a very upmarket interior - check out the villages of "Valldemossa" or "Soller" , and some wonderful marinas like "Puerto Portals". So there really is something for everyone here .
Then of course we are in Spain - which has amazing culture, food and wonderful people.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Seems the people here can?t drive! No use of indicators at all, no idea about which lane to use going round roundabout, no giving way, and as it hardly ever rains they are so unsafe it?s scary. When DH comes home from work I always call him to find out when he will be leaving and always say, "Come home safely" as I worry about the other drivers.
Where do you live? Vermont (Northeast Kingdom)
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? Vermont is the second least-populated state in the USA.
What's something that you love about it? I love the Fall season. Apple picking is my favorite and can't wait until next year with the little one.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? I would love to move to a bigger area. The town I live in is very small and there is not much to do.
Where do you live? Nashville, Tennessee
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? Home of Country Music, Maxwell House Coffee, the only completed replica of the Greek Parthenon (and the golden (leafed) statue of Athena standing an impressive 42 feet tall), "Little Kurdistan" and Goo-Goos, among other recent enterprises; many great local businesses and artistic ventures.
What's something that you love about it? I love the big city/small town feel of Nashville. Its just the right size for a place with plenty of international influence as well as being a proud little place of its own. Its very easy to make friends here and there is always something going on or that you are able to get going no matter what you are into. The summers here are borderline unbearable but it is the South, its supposed to be hot, and in the winter we get snow sometimes. It's nice and central to the region, neighboring 8 states, which is nice for people who have the travel bug like hubs and I.
What's something about it that you wish you could change? I wish Nashville was on the ocean. I miss walking to the beach on my days off. The river just isn't the same and all of our lakes nearby are man made. I can drive for a while and hit some good natural lakes or swimming holes with good cliff jumping, but I miss my ocean! I've talked to many Nashvillians who feel the same, Nashville needs a nearby seacoast.
Where do you live? Midland, Texas.
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? The hometown of former First Lady Laura Bush. It got its name because it is the midway point between Fort Worth and El Paso on the railroad.
What's something that you love about it? I love that the longest it takes is 20 minutes to get anywhere. We also have great sunsets!
What's something about it that you wish you could change? I wish we had better scenery and more water nearby. The closest lake is over an hour away. It's very dry most of the year.
Where do you live? Beaverton, OR
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? Nike headquarters are here!
What's something that you love about it? I love the seasons (as PP from Oregon mentioned, we really get all 4), and I love how green it is here. No sales tax is also great!
What's something about it that you wish you could change? Not sure what I would change? I wish it were closer to PA, because my family lives there and it's SOOOOO far.
Where do you live? Western WA
What's a fun "fact" about where you live? The seasons are like a Tim Burton movie
(theoatmeal)
What's something that you love about it? It's beautiful, and the people are generally friendly
What's something about it that you wish you could change? It's really, really wet.
I remembered one more thing I love about it here.
If you drive 2 hours west, you're at the ocean. If you drive 2 hours east, you're at the mountain. It's pretty great
