And I've been freaking out about it since he told me, months ago. He's kind of a hot mess and he and his girlfriend had only been together a few months before she got pregnant. She's five months along now, and in true PGAL fashion, I have been fretting this whole time about her a/s and making sure everything is alright with the baby.
Well, I asked him the other day how the a/s went, or when it was scheduled for, and he said her OB isn't doing it until 26 weeks because that's when baby's genitalia are more easily identified? WTF? I get that pretty much everyone in the not worrying world treat the a/s like it's just a way to find out what sex your baby is, and I understand that's exciting, but I always thought it was important to do the a/s around 20 weeks to identify any serious birth defects? I've never heard of anyone having one so late. I know it's not my business, it's just so hard not to worry for them.

Probably. She's very young, like 20 or 21, and my brother is 28. He should know better, but he totally doesn't.
