I am so worried we are going to be without power for more than a week - at least that is what our electric company said when the called to say that despite the 1,500 extra workers, we'd still be without power.
And, at 42 degrees without windchill... not good.
Hurricane Irene was bad, but at least it was warm out. This is insane!
Re: Hurricane is really worrying me!
I am having the same worries! I keep thinking about getting too hot, too cold, tripping over something in the dark bc there are no lights, not having enough water... I also have the fear of a tree branch flying through our window at night or our roof caving in from the winds and rain. Too much anxiety over here! I will worry enough for everyone, k?
Yea, that's me. DH said that after the storm, if we are out of power, we could go to a hotel for warmth. Only problem is... if we are out, I'm sure hotels will be too.

With as widespread as this thing is... not really. Hotels are our only hope right now. By the time we would spend money on bundles of wood - if there are any left - we would be better off at a hotel.
I really hope it doesn't get to that.

But maybe the hotels have gas heat? I hadn't thought about this problem bc our heat is all gas (radiant baseboard heating). I had electric heat in our last apartment though. ugh. I hope neither of us loses power and this ends up being much ado about nothing!
My big fear is having a puppy who needs to go outside to use the bathroom (on leash) in the middle of a hurricane. I hope it is okay if I don't give him much water tomorrow....

Oh goodness, I posted something about my DH letting my girls use a glass cup over at 24+ and holy moly. Ask over there and they may think it's fine to fill the tub. A few ladies over there seem to think kids can do anything without risk. Yikes!
Turn the lock around on the backroom door - can your LO reach the knob? If not then just lock the door.
