Babies: 0 - 3 Months

could my baby be teething before 2 months old?

She will be 2 months on Halloween. When she was born she already had the 2 white tooth buds on her bottom gums where her two front teeth would be. My identical twin sister was actually born with those two teeth so maybe its a genetics thing. Anyhoo she woke up Saturday morning at 130 fussy and I could not get her to sleep for more then 30 minutes at a time the whole rest if the night and the same thing the following day. She got like 4 hrs of sleep in a 24 hr period. Now she keeps crying for no apparent reason. Even if I'm holding her she cries some unless I give her a pacifier. Normally she is a super good happy baby who doesn't cry much. I noticed she has had the pacifier in her mouth for over an hr and normally she uses it for a minute or two and then spits it out. Does this sound like teething? Or maybe she us just sick.

  • It's not common, but not unheard of. Does she have a fever? Is she drooling a lot? It sounds like she has the signs. If you haven't had her 2 month appt with the pedi I would ask then! GL!

  • No fever but she has been drooling. Her appointment isn't for two more weeks. I think I might have to see if I can get her in earlier and get it all done then.

  • There are a couple of girls on Sept 12 that have LOs teething at less than 2 months.   Craziness, for sure.
