3rd Trimester

Is/was your bra digging into the top of your belly?

I vaguely remember this happening with DS.  My bra is "okay" if I am standing up.  But as soon as I sit down, the wire is digging into the top of my belly because it's getting up so high!  Also worse as the day goes on, of course.

What is your solution for this?  A new bra?  If so, please recommend what one!  I am so uncomfortable!!!

  • This was happening to me, so I got a bra without an underwire and I don't have this problem anymore. I have a rather large chest as well (36DDD) and my bra still gives me enough support without the wire. I can't remember the brand, but I found it at Kohls.

  • HORRID!  Yes, so I only wear comfy padded sportsbras now without underwire.  I have some nursing sportsbras left from DD, so just wear those.

  • I am also on the no underwire wagon.  It sucks having your belly flip your bra :/

  • Yup. Ditch the underwire. I'm a new believer in the Basics brand nursing maternity bra from Target. The girls and my belly are SO much happier!

  • Ugh yes!  I don't want to give up the underwire as I am enjoying my awesome rack!
  • I am not opposed to giving up the underwire, but I am a DDD and feel like I wouldn't get enough support.  Anyone else recommend a non-underwire bra that is very supportive?  THanks :)

  • Victoria Secret has one that is super supportive and comfy. I'm not a big Bewbied girl to begin with, but it's definitely full coverage.

That's what I did. I got mine at Target. I went from a 36dd or 38D, depending on style, to a 40E, and I still have pretty good support.

  • I just got a Bliss nursing bra from Bravado.  It has flexible something in the bottom that is like underwire, but it's way more comfortable.  As a 34 H/I, I can assure you it's also quite supportive!  It also comes with an extender for the back so you can make it bigger for wearing in 3rd tri and then it should still fit fine for nursing as well.

  • I wear a sports bra over and tuck it in under the underwire so its like a cushion. It also puts my ladies together and makes them look super perky

  • I've been putting a folded up piece of toilet paper under the under wire.  Low budget but it helps.

  • I am a DDD as well, even before pregnancy. I got custom fit Medela nursing bras from Yale New Haven Hospital's nursing store. You can get them at Babies r Us as well. They don't have an underwire so your boobs aren't going to have that full, sexy cleavage look, but you know what? They're comfortable, enough said lol. For extra support, keep the nursing pads inside the bra, it really helps!

  • I've been wearing sports bras everyday for about 2 months now. When I wore my regular bras, I would come home with a big red mark under the band on my stomach. I did buy some new sports bras but I only got the ones on clearance at target.
