So yesterday at my 6w pp appt, I showed my dr my incision from my c/s. I had gone in last week too because in 3 or 4 places, it looked like it was coming open on the surface. We both decided that it was from some nasty ingrown hairs trying to come thru and not allowing the top layer of skin to heal. Last week, my dr tweezed the hairs and I thought it would heal.
Well yesterday I showed her again and she said she wd try some silver nitrate sticks on the open places. It burned a little and she warned me that the skin would look black so I wasn't alarmed. Well, tonight my incision looks way worse! The skin around the 4 open holes is all black, but how the holes look really raw and nasty and are not black at all, all red and angry looking... Sort of *** too. Is this a normal reaction to the use of silver nitrate? I know it's supposed to cauterize the wound and promote growth of good tissue and healing, but it looks worse now than before I had it done!
Of course it's the weekend now and I'm not gonna go to the ER or anything, just wondering if anyone has an experience with this? I'm so afraid of infection! Yuck!!
