Red Bottom!

Oh no! My 10.5 week old son has two bright red splotches on his butt. My first reaction is to get some cream, but I know that's a no-no with cloth. What can I do for him? He's currently on his play mat with no diaper on. I obviously can't do this for long though! What causes redness like this? Sorry, I'm a FTM and haven't dealt with this before. Thanks!

    Do you use a cream as a barrier with every change? My dd has the most sensitive booty, and we have to use something with every change or else. There are a lot of CD safe creams out there. Two of my favourites are GroVia Magic Stick and Grandma El's.
